I Need You....

As said in the last post, i tried scribbling about "Lovveeee " and this is all i could come up with...

"All is going so wrong,
evrerything seeming so blue,
I know that's the moment,
I desperately need you...

Evrything around me is just so erratic,
I dnt seem to get a clue,
Mind wants to stop thinking,
And i just need you....

The world appears to ve turn a back on me,
Each feeling is illegible and new,
I am all surrounded by unknown,
And i hurriedly search for you....

With nowhere to go,
And nothing else to do,
The only truth is,
I want you and only you............!!!!!!

Its Different !!!!!

The kind of moody personality that i am, it should come as a no surprise that yes  i am in a weird mood yet again. In my last to last post i mentioned that i had blog fodder which could last for next 6 months, and i actually meant it!! Weird part is even after having that i was not posting anything new here. I was planning to write a post from last 2 weeks -but just couldn't pen down anything... I pondered ,decided to think on as to why am i not able to write??? And i realized that i had just tooooooo many things occupying my mind space at the moment. There's a lot of clutter in and around me.

But i have decided not to put any efforts in organizing my life, coz sometimes a little randomness in essential to give you the much needed energy & momentum (Aiing !!! :energy??? momentum??? see i told you  "my mental state", god knows why i suddenly drifted back to my 11th class physics lecture !!!)So i am just going to chill, sit back and enjoy my "randomness", after all this is one of the best phases of my life.

BTW i wanted to write the next post about something very common  yet interesting "LOVE" !!! coz recently one of my friend asked why i have never written anything on it. Ohhkkkk ,although i am an amateur in the subject, still i would try and scribble something.

PS: Didn't realise , but i have ended up writing a post on "why am i not able to write a post", quite funny !!!isn't it???

Bengaluru blues.........

BENGALURU or BANGALORE as it is known popularly. holds and will continue to hold a special place in my heart. There are several different reasons for it, and owing to the growing popularity of "bullet point  style" of writing blogs i am also going to ride the band wagon and list down the reasons below

1. My source of daal roti: Its the place where i started my career from. The flavour of corporate, the taste of professionalism, the spice of work stress, bangalore gave me a hint of all of these.I learnt , learnt the hard way, but there is no denying the fact that those 11 months are a big reason of where i stand today.

2. Cane crush: That was the name of a cane juice chain in bangalore, the one i miss the most was definitely domlur one. It had fresh , nice cane juice (which was der in all other shops as well), along with a world best pani puri stall and superb american corn stall, right next to it. So a routine trip would result into panipuri then corn and finally the cane juice, HEAVEN !!!!

3. Green is in: I have never been to a city as green as bangalore. Being a major city of the country, its amazing how banaglore still manages to have all those trees and greenery in and around it, which in turn ensures the fantabulous weather that bangalore boasts of.

4. The freaked species , i call friends: Above everything else, this is the place i got some of my "friends for lifetime". I laughed , i cried, i complained, i abused, i craziest of the crazy things with them, and they were the reason that i survived in a city where i ddin't even knew a bird when i first came.It was because of them that leaving bangalore became a difficult and painful thought. I miss them, miss them all like crazy, those unplanned outings with dips, those like minded thought sharing with anu, buttermilk trips with appu, giggling with N & N, leg pulling sessions with richie rich,  gyan bato meetings with manu and the list goes on and on.

I still remember the day i landed in bangalore, hating it from the first sight itself. I often told people, i could never fall in love with that place, but i definitely learnt to manage there, and that too comfortably. But now when i look back and think, i kind of miss that place. Hope to make a trip to bangalore soon, a trip down the memory lane.....

BACK..............

On my blog after a hiatus of 2 months....., feels like coming back home!!! So for all those who thought my blogging fever is over, guys not that easily. Infact i now have so much material accumulated , i can go on writing over next 6 months on the topics.

Starting of it has to be with a reason of me being off the blog for such long time.Ok so these last 2 months my life has taken me for a ride, lots of unseen twists and turns, unexpected events and sudden happenings.I changed my job, came into a govt PSU,left bangalore, ws raoming around in different city like a refugee as a part of my training, now came to ahmedabad.... and in between obviously several other things happened, now i guess u people will get a fare idea of my absenteeism.

I sometime feel that god keeps a close watch of my life, and as soon as he gets a feeling that my life is becoming predictable and mundane , he like ekta kapoor, introduces new angels in the story to make it interesting. And not to mention i enjoy it like anything, its adventurous , fun ,and amazingly beautiful. They correctly say, " when god does not grant your wish, probably he has something better in store for u". So with this nice thought i would better end this post, but yes as i said, enough stories and experiences in the pipeline to be shared, till then happy reading and keep visiting this space for more......

Dirty talks !!!!

For all those who are shocked, curious or uneasy about the title of the post, lemme put all your thoughts to rest, its not at all about what all you naughty minds are thinking about. It is actually one of my usual weekend stuff.A habit i wanted to share with some friends who are not aware of it, and also wanted to know how many of them would give a nod saying "me too"....
The strong holded secret to be revealed is that i am a lazy bun ,and that too to the core. Monday to Friday i am still fine, i mean bearable, but on weekends, i am at my best, best of lazing around!!!!
So on weekends my room actually shows off almost all the stuff that my wardrobe somehow holds back.i don't pick up single thing that has fallen on the floor. Our bai has to search for space and decide where & how exactly can she broom the place.
This is so coz i feel weekends are meant to be relaxed and absolutely no work days, and by no work i mean no work at all.So this turns into a stark reality and transforms my surroundings into picture perfect MESS on lamost all of the weekends!!!

I am even giving u a chance to sneak peek into my weekend room , as a testimony to this post (I know no one is going to get married to me after looking at this...)

God damn this young generation !!!!

This time while travelling in the volvo from airport to the city i witnessed an incidence, i am not sure if that would be a right word to use, coz it was actually just few people in conversation !!!! So what was so special about them was the amazingly opposite pairs involved in talks with each other. There was this Sr, software engg (approx 30 yrs )from an MNC all dapper in a suave business suit, tuned to the talks of a 65-70 yrs old ex army men now a faculty in some college in punjab. It was so engaging to see both of them talk. The army uncle proudly showing off his collection of coins , talking about almost each one in there elaborately. But not even once did i see the younger one wandering anywhere else other than the conversation,he was giving full nods, adding stuff , they really seemed to be enjoying each others company.

Now coming to the second set of conversationalists, A lady  in her 60s , was in talks with  a young lad of around 23-24 yrs of age. This lady had just finished her first air travel and was all gusto about it. She was narrating her whole experience to the guy and he was listening to it with full attention and patience.

The fact that i witnessed both this conversations at same time, same place made me really cheerful about the value system of this so called Gen Y. It made me hope that there might be many more like these happening quite often at different places at different times.I was glad to witness and notice something like this, so that if anyone next time comes to me complaining ,"God damn this young generation, no respect for elders" i atleast have two examples to give from the side of my generation.

Mumbai masti !!!!

I don't understand why ,but i always had a certain kind of fascination for the city of dreams "Mumbai". I always knew that this was one place on earth i would love to live in. There is a mystic appeal to the city and i have been longing to be in that city, and i got the chance few days back to stay there for a while, and needless to say, i luved it !!!!
The constantly moving crowd, the beautiful nights which were as shining as the morning sun,the gen Y with loads of dream and attitude, and of course the unrelenting spirit of the city.
I had been to this city few times earlier also, but didn't actually get the chance to explore it, so this time i thought i would do not leave mumbai without getting the actual feel of being here, and as they say there can not be any better way to explore mumbai other than taking  rides of the lifeline of the city "the local trains".
And as an insane, mad , person that i am , i decided to take one ride from CST to chembur on my own. I know most of you would say, "whts the big deal??" but those who know my direction sense, know that i was able to remember way to my new pg at bengaluru in 10 days !!!! so u can imagine, it was as difficult for me as climbing the mount everest for hillary...  not calling any of my friends who were actually waiting for me to tell them to take me back to chembur, the great me , i decided to board the train on my own ( coz i thot if i end up at a place i cant figure out, i will call them up for rescue), to my own surprise i actually ended up in chembur single piece. Its a different case though that i harassed alomost 1000 ppl confirming that i was boarding a right train and all 40 min i was standing coz i didnt knew which side the platform would come. lolz.

An experience i will cherish all my life.

My Shopping sprees..........

Like any other normal girl, i also love to do shopping, the favorite pastime of 99.999% girls existing on this planet (dont know about other planets having life, but i doubt if there are any,i guess there also the females can't be devoid of this basic underlying characteristic of the gal gang). But for some time now i have been observing my shopping trend, and it just boils down to one thing "Absurd".And there are reasons for this conclusion:

  • Unlike other girls i can't do shopping anytime and every time. I have random moods for it. I remember even when i was a kid , i never thought it to be essential to shop for festivals, i used to buy clothes randomly, when i felt like, without any festival and occasion nearby( And my mum getting crazy seeing her daughter dressed in her usual clothes even on festivals)

  • I never go into details of the stuff i buy. I have seen people checking the thing 100 times here and there, upside down before they buy,but for me the decision is instant.Something catches my eye,and i buy it.Although i would never suggest anyone to do that, coz u can end up taking a defected piece, needless to say i have suffered that many a times.

  • I have a habit of taking snack breaks in between the shopping sprees, it could be a fruit salad, or some chaat or chips, in a nutshell any chatar patar fits the bill.
I am sure there would be others also , out there with stranger habits of shopping than mine. But sometimes i do feel like taking tuitions from some of my expert friends, hope they help me with my insane habits....

In search............

Without giving ways to further speculations i would straight away tell you what am in search of these days.  Its my "ME TIME"..........
For the people who can't get the essence of what this term is, it is the time that you spend with just yourself, no one else around, with you. Might sound weird to many, but for me its a necessary part of life. I luv being with myself, obviously not always, but yes some time is important for being in peace with myself. And what do i do in this "ME TIME", anything or just nothing, i sing, i dance to songs, i take showers for hours, i read books, i dress up, i cook i do anything that i feel like doing.

Since few weeks i am in dearth of this time of mine. Due to heavy work load in office, sudden plans with friends or some pending work that i had to complete in weekends, i am just not able to do the activities in which i accompany myself. And that is making me cranky, irritating. I just somehow feel to get my "ME TIME" back.

I always suggest that everyone should spend some time with himself/herself,it unknowingly helps in your growth, in knowing oneself better, in understanding ur capabilities, ur shortcomings, in short getting close to urself.

Hope to get my beloved "ME TIME" back soon.........and till that time, sincere request to all people around me, please bear with me.

The Aunty brigade.........

People in metros at one or the other point in their lives, would have had the experience of public transport, good , bad whatever it is. One usual thing that happens while traveling in public transport is that you get to see and observe hoards of people (that is my favorite pastime, while travelling in bangalore buses, types & kinds of people).

In some of my recent trips i noticed one particular type,  "The Aunties" . They are the types who lie in the age group of  35-65(though would never admit & behave to their actual age) and also have an opinion on almost everything under the sun. There were some really interesting incidences that happened recently:

 1. Once me & dips were going somewhere, that day the bus was crowded ,so we were standing just in front of two "Aunties", and the conversation that i heard was truely hillarious

Auntie X-" I dont know how girls these days, carry such tight 2 clothes." and while giving that remark she actually pointed out finger to me and dips , both of us dressed in a skin fit denim and regular tees. I seriously didnt knew how to react, and all i could do was give aunty a smile ( poor me......)

Aunty Y : Gave a big nod !!

Aunty X : I told pinky/chinky/ or something similar sounding name, that she is never suppose to wear any such stuff ( Me- still giving a smile, although a lil weird one this time)

Finally we got down the bus, the auntys though still continuing the same topic.

2. The most common of all, whenever u are getting up on a bus, suddenly a mob of aunties will come ,step on your feet, push you back, without feeling the need of saying sorry, and will occupy all the vacant seats and also make few of the men stand up,give them the respect (or i shud say forcefully taken), and let aunties sit on their seats.

3. Some of them would suddenly start bombarding  you with all personal question
    Where do u belong to?
What are you doing in bangalore?
    Where do u stay?
    What your parents do?

As if she ll get her son married to me ..... lolz

There is one more , not related to any public transport incidence but still worth mentioning.....

4. Me and my cousin went to a mall, were trying some stuff there, suddenly an aunty pops out of somewhere and starts telling me how the stuff i was trying was not looking gud on me and finally when on the counter, i saw her with the same stuff that she did not let me take... (come on aunty log, stop playing these ekta kapoor tricks in real life)

Though irritating at times, they still top my list of pastimes.....

Chaipatty-The Teafe!!!!!!!!

Most of my readers till now would have either got used to ,or got total irritated by  my week on week verdicts on movies, people, places etc etc, but guys let me tell you a secret, right from my chilhood i had these (bad??? ) habit of giving opinions on almost everything on the face of this earth. I always felt i had the right to judge things and then also go on telllin people about how i felt for a particular thing.

Okkk so next in line is "Chai-patty" , its a Teafe, and for the confused lot,let me tell ,the way we have "cafe" ,usual coffee outlets ,this one is a tea cafe!!!!  Situated at 100ft road ,Indiranagar, this is one of the coolest place i have come across in Bangalore. So nw into details, whts cool about a place that serves tea???

(I will try something different, will list some pointers!!!The bullet pointers art learnt through some fellow bloggers.....)

  • The most important one, the tea is an awesome masala chai served in kulhads.5stars for the taste.
  • The interiors are very creatively done and gives a serene and earthy touch to the whole place.
  • Small detailing done using beautiful accessories is worth appreciating.
  • The owner is a very humble and nice person, and also the other staff is very congenial.
  • The other stuff on menu like the pakodas, maggi etc are also very yum!!!
  •
  • They have a collection of books kept there, which u can pick and read while sitting there.  (here they scored the maximum from my side)
So all in all, a very nice place for all those people chai lovers (they do serve coffee as well) who are bored of having coffee and sandwiches at CCDs and Baristas, they are creative ,indian, and coooooooolllll.

Yes it was republic day!!!!!

Ya Ya!!! I know its a lil late to write a post on republic day.Actually looking and reading so many of blogger friends dedicating the posts to "Republic day",i also was tempted to do the "in thing", but  was not sure of what to write, coz i didn't want to repeat what was being written and talked about everywhere (India is great coz blah blah blah!!!!! .And i am glad that i  waited, now i have an anecdote to tell it to all of you, which made my republic day worthwhile  (A true story guys, be ready!! Tan tanaaa!!!!)

Republic day this time was no more special than one more off from daily work related stress, e mails, calls and ofcourse "BOSS" (He he he!!! God she will kill me if she reads this ), but anyways ,so we had some plans of going out for shopping (just cudnt resist the flat 40% /50% tags on  almost all the showrooms,Girlie thing na???? lol) we entered a place, shopped for our stuff,i came to the counter, paid the bill through my card, took the bill, the stuff and left the place, guessed it r8, without collecting my card!!!! Oooops.

We then came out went to few more shops nearby, were roaming here and there ,when i suddenly saw the watchman coming towards us. He told me that i had forgot my scarf in the showroom, i was puzzled to hear that, coz i was not carrying any scarf, but he somehow managed to convince us in coming back to the shop. We went there, and the cash counter person smiled seeing me,and handed me over my "CARD". I was too much shocked on my stupidity and awed by the gesture of that watchman (I was not able to get his accent ,he was not saying "scarf" but "card". Dumbo me!!!! ) and that of cash counter person. I couldn't say anything but a "thank you" and left the place.

The entire day after that i was thinking about the incident and it made me believe in one thing ,that no matter how much corruption, crime engulf the country ,we still come across people who are genuine ,honest  and above all "everyday heroes",and India is great because of these kind of Indians.

Salute to all Every day Heroes of India.!!!!!!!

Mumbai Diaries - DHOBI GHAT

I am back (U must be thinkin ,"Itna jaldi?????" , but sorry guys, cud nt wait till d weekend for this one ;) ). This is yet another of my personal take on one of my latest movie picks"Dhobi Ghat" as the movie is popularly known as, but i like to refer to it  as MUMBAI DIARIES!!!!, i think this better reflects the mood and content of the movie.  Hmmmmm....... so you waiting for the verdict, before giving that, let me make a statutory warning message display. "This post is not meant for anyone who is not a sincere and dedicated lover of movies, and watch them just for fun sake "  .

So as far as my review for the movie goes, I DIDN'T LIKE THE MOVIE.!!!!!!
but actually , LOVED IT!!!!!! After a long gap of, i suppose years, i have come across a brilliant and intelligent piece of work, full of creativity.

The movie revolves around 4 main characters  - Munna (Prateek Babbar), Arun (Aamir), Yasmeen (kriti Malhotra) and Shay (Monica Dogra). In contradiction to your expectations, its nt Aamir who catches your attention , but actually the other 3, their performance is way above that of Aamir's.Prateik surely tells it loud that he inherits the acting genes from none other than the great Smita Patil (I adore her , never came across anyone as natural as her :) ). But as it was written in the review given in TOI, apart from the 4 characters, the most astonishing work is done by the 5th artist, The Camera!!!, it has captured the real face of mumbai, feel of the lively and effervescent city in its exact sense.

Kiran Rao as a debutant is impressive, has dealt with the nuances of the story very maturely and has shown that she is an artist to watch out for.The blend of the four stories, great dialogues and brilliant performances make the movie a treat for the art lovers.!!!!!

karnataka bandh= Ricey day

"Ricey" thats a new term coined by my roomie, and that actually means the day when you don't eat rotis and survive on just rice as your staple grain in the diet. Yes and this so called "Ricey day" came into our life as well.sigh!!!!(with due respect to all those who love rice, but its coz i am from a place where rotis are the only thing you can actually think about when you think of lunch or dinner!!!!). So now the main story,as to Why?? when??? where??how???.

It all started on the morning of Saturday,as usual me and dips got up lazily around 10 in the morning, and planned out our breakfast and that was a full fledged british thingy (scrambled eggs, toast, juice, bowl of fresh friuts!! Yum!!!) at "Bites and eats". Happily we started from the PG towards the place, noticing that the ATMs ,shops were closed ,roads looked deserted ,still engrossed in our talks reached the place only to be informed that it was a "Karnataka bandh" that day. :(

Dissapointed we came back and had to settle for the rice made in our PG mess. Again in the evening , we were searching for some places to go out for dinner, and ended up at "Nagarjuna", an eatery famous for its Andhra food, so as quite expected it was  a rice dominated meal, but,but but, must say, it was delicious. The garama-garam rice , oodles of ghee on top, the dal palak, raita, papad and the fantabulous chutney to go with that, provided a sumptuous and satisfying meal (It deserves a special mention as a different post, solely dedicated to andhra meal).

Both of us were surprised seeing our own capacity to eat rice, and were happy that we are slowly but steadily getting acquainted with the customs and habits of place where we are living.

So ultimately the day ended with full on dependence on rice, and a hope that probably i would have gained  atleast some weight in the process.

Surprise Surprise Surprise!!!!!!!

A usual day got over for me, and i was returning back from office along with my roomie, and suddenly when we entered our lane we saw it was lit up by hundreds of small & beautiful light lamps, the street was decorated using various kinds of flowers ,garlands and what not.
But we were actually clueless for what could be the reason for such splendid and beautiful decoration, ammmhhhhhh!!!! Is it some festival being celebrated in bangalore that we are not aware of , or is there some wedding taking place nearby and various such other "could be" reasons. But all efforts in vain ,coz  we were not able to make out the secret behind all the pompous celebration.

So later around 9:30 or 10 we again went to take a look of outside environment, and tired of guessing and embarrassed to ask anyone we were about to return, when suddenly we met our chai wale bhaiya (btw he has a very cute and sweet daughter called "madhu", i know its nowhere connected to the post, but still i find her damn adorable so thot ll mention it!!! :) ), so we finally had someone we were not embarassed to ask ,so we popped the question-Whts the occasion bhaiya????

And here comes the answer that ws goin to end our suspense , and he said-"Madam. its the b'day of an MLA"
Both of us were like "Wht d f***??????/ ofcourse could not express it, we just looked at each other, gave a "no comments" expression and walked out from there.

Just one thought came to my mind ,i guess i still have not got fully indianised, i still don't count some so so important festivals celebrated in India -the b'days of our very own politicians!!! sigh!!!

BTW before i end this post i forgot one thing ,to wish the MLA -"Happy B'day Sir"

and thanks fr wasting our resources on celebration of such occasions, making us realize what useful purpose our taxes are serving!!!!!Kudos to you and all those similar to you.

No one killed JESSICA !!!!!

After a long gap of almost 2-3 weeks , i finally managed to watch a movie today, a movie i had been desperately waiting for- "No one killed Jessica". The reason being simple that the incident aroused much interest and reactions at that time, and i had almost followed the entire thing being covered in the news channels. So the time i came to know that a movie was being made , i got interested in it. And also the promos along with the fact that it was being directed by Raj Kumar Gupta ("Aamir" fame) strengthened my notion about the movie.

And not to say the movie did not disappoint me. One major reason was a crisp storyline, backed by power packed performances of Vidya & Rani. I can definitely term it as a comeback for Rani, after a long wait finally we had a good looking Rani, with oodles of acting talent at display, and was well complimented by Vidya, portraying the sometimes helpless, sometimes fearless, "sabrina".

No where the movie loses the grip. Although most of the facts and story is well known by all, still the movie manages to hold your attention and interest till the end.The music score by Amit Trivedi ("Dev D" fame) also blended well with the feel of the movie, "Dilli Dilli" and "Aai re" being the major attractions.

I will definitely recommend the movie , for all those who are looking for a meaningful and sensible flick. Guys this one is worth a watch for sure!!!!

PS: I also liked it for the typical Hindi gaalis that rani has used in the movie!!!  ;)
